Cream of Carrot Soup

What is more comforting than a hot soup? With the cool weather back, I decided to try this new recipe. So simple, good and cheap! And you only need 7 ingredients to do it : )

Pancetta & Fresh cream Gnocchis

This weekend, I had an italian vibe. So I decided to cook a delicious classic: Gnocchis. I'm pretty proud of myself because I actually came up with my own recipe. Try it if you feel like it : )

Pancetta and fresh cream gnocchis :

-Cut your pancetta in small pieces.
-Brown it up in a hot pan with a little olive oil.
-Add grated parmigiano reggiano, lemon zest, fresh italian parsley and fresh cream.
-Cook your gnocchis in boiling water.
-Melt a little butter in a pan and brown up a little your cooked gnocchis.
-Mix everything together and ENJOY!

Salmon tartar

The bf LOVES tartar. So once in a while, when I'm a little lazy (let's be honest, it takes 10 minutes!)I prepare him one. I try to change my ingredients from time to time because the cool thing about tartar is that you have so many options (fish, herbs, veggies, sauce,etc). This is the latest recipe I tried, which I think is the best so far : )


Salmon tartar:

- Mix up your dijon mustard,lime juice,egg yolk and tabasco.
- Add slowly while stirring the olive oil to create a mayo.
- Cut in tiny pieces the salmon filet (buy it without the skin.Easier)
- Cut in small pieces capres, radishes and fresh shallots.
- Chop your fresh Cilantro and zest your lime.
- Mix everything together and enjoy on homemade crostinis!!

Le Comme chez Soi

Tried this small place for brunch this morning. Good breakfast classics (omelets, eggs, pancakes, etc.)and great prices. Cheddar and bacon benedicts were delicious. The bf and I will go back soon : )
